January 9, 2020Per direction from Hockey Canada, HEO Minor, and District One received today (9 January 2020), please ensure all game handshakes are conducted post-game.
A reminder to teams: the intent of this change to pre-game handshakes was because of fighting, aggressive, and inappropriate behaviour within District One as a whole. Thus, an attempt was made to implement measures such as pre-game handshakes to provide a safer environment for all players, coaches, and referees. If it should be looked at again, this will be discussed towards the end of the season.
