Registration for the 2021-22 season is OPENSpring Registration News
May 31, 2021
Hello KDMHA Families,
We hope that all our families continue to stay well and healthy. While last season was not quite as we had hoped, the KDMHA Executive continues to meet virtually to discuss next steps and planning will be a bit different for a while longer, but we are indeed planning for a hockey season. Your continued support and flexibility to adapt is much appreciated!
Registration for the 2021-22 season has now opened and you can find the registration details on the KDMHA website here: LINK
We have made some slight changes/updates to registrations this year:
-
July 14 – KDMHA has waived the late registration fee again for this year. We do encourage all families to register by July 14th as registration spots will fill up for the season and registering after this date could result in players being placed on a waiting list.
-
September 15 – Payment Due date is extended to September 15th this year. We hope that all families are able to return to hockey. KDMHA Executive understands that not all situations are the same and during this time there are so many uncertainties for families and finances. Please contact the Registrars or Treasurer for questions about the registration process, fees, and financial assistance options; we will do our best to work with families.
-
At this time KDMHA is awaiting details from HEO/OWHA to determine next steps around conditioning camps and tryouts. Once information is provided, KDMHA will share with families and separate registrations will open if permitted. Costs for tryouts, camps and competitive fees will be shared when known.
-
KDMHA is planning for a U21 (Juvenile) league for this season as long as season league play is permitted. This Division will hold one Royals team and play in the LCMHL (Lanark Carleton Minor Hockey League). Registration will determine the ability to hold a Royals U21 team this year.
Now that registration is open, the Executive is looking at some next steps:
-
Equipment return for loaned goalie gear etc. will be scheduled when health restrictions permit.
-
Head Coach applications for both Kemptville Royals Rep and Kemptville Storm Competitive teams are being sought: LINK … and coach applications for all levels will be advertised soon. We know that uncertainty may prevent coaches from putting forward applications, we encourage applicants to apply so that we are in a place to act immediately to select coaches for competitive teams. KDMHA holds the right to continue to hold over applications until all levels have received applicants.
-
Following the AGM on May 6, there remains a need for volunteers at the board. If interested in learning more, please contact info@kemptvillehockey.com
-
Royals U9 Convenor
-
Royals U13 Convenor Emilie Currie
-
Storm U11-13 Convenor
-

Anyone that is interested in volunteering (coach, assistant coach, manager, trainer, den mom etc.) must complete police screening every year. Please get this done early! If you completed a Vulnerable Sector Check last year, only a Criminal Record Check is required this year. You can find the forms and KDMHA letter here: LINK
We thank all our families for their continued patience while we navigate through the continued uncertainty of planning hockey for the upcoming season. KDMHA will continue to post any updates or information we receive to our website and social media. If you have not liked or followed our sites, please do so to stay up to date on any news we receive from our Governing Bodies.
Until then, stay safe and wishing you all a relaxing summer. Hope to see you at the rink!
