  • Hockey Canada’s insurance is secondary coverage only. Families must have their own primary health insurance in place.

  • Before traveling, confirm what coverage your family has and consider purchasing additional travel insurance.

Other Team Activities

Not all team activities are automatically covered by Hockey Canada. Teams may need to arrange additional coverage for things such as:

  • Parades

  • Outdoor skating

  • Dryland training sessions

Takeaway: Always check the relevant insurance guide and make sure you understand what coverage is in place before your team heads to the U.S. or participates in activities outside regular hockey practices and league games.
